Dining Room

My Dining Room is mainly a mix of whites and creams with an occasional blue or pink thrown in. And yes, that's a clear cover over the fabric tablecloth. Would Rachel Ashwell approve? Probably not, but in this area, I choose practical! With teenage boys and grand children, I was washing my tablecloth every day. Just wipe and go. Love it. Isn't it amazing how the colors in a table cloth can change the look of a whole room?

Beautiful chandelier and I love that hutch! I think Rachel would approve and would definitely feel comfortable anywhere in your beautiful home!

Thanks so much Sandi! Our home is always a work in progress but I love it. It's a 115 year old Colonial. Lots of windows and doorways which makes decorating a challenge. The rooms are small which lends to the "cottage" feel. That hutch was a find about three years ago at a little shop in Norfolk named "Nothing's New". I new I HAD to have it the moment I laid eyes on it. Graceful, sweet, and shabby in all the right places!

Hi Jo-Anne!
Thanks for your comment. I'm not sure if you were thinking of my space or Sandi's at the WCS. I checked back on your blog posts. You posted the pics of the WCS on Monday, March 8th and in that photo collage, my space is on the left and also under the wooden shoe. Hope that helps. I do have tags and burlap lavender sachets, but probably not as much white as Sandi. I've been going for the shabby french look, although I've strayed from that a bit in the last couple months in the interest of selling a little furniture as well. Again, I have to say... I can't get enough of your blog. It's candy for the eyes!!!

Karen your home is so beautiful.I have really just started going for the cottage look I was primitive for so long.I started in my kitchen with my colors being red white and light green I loved the look so much I am now taking it to my dining room.I also like the idea of a clear plastic over your table cloth I am going to try this also.I have a couple of cats that since I put a table cloth on they think it is a new bed yuk.Anyway your hallway office is really a great idea too.I have a old old home but my hallway is not wide enough for anything like that.I love all the rooms you have showed so far and your decorating skills are divine gal.I have become a follower and thanks so much for sharing.
